Interesting progressions, shifting tempos, really refreshing and unique sound. This album is great from start to finish. Very much looking forward to seeing a live show someday.

Heavy psych with a touch of drone that really hits you in the right place. Drop out of life and toss this on for your ears.
Favorite track: Shadow Heathen.
"I haven’t been excited by a debut full length album such as this one for a very long time and I’m quite excited to hear what the guys have in store for us for their next release. This is an album of the year contender. So you know what to do…." - Outlaws of the Sun
"Warmly produced and with riffs that truly get under the skin, this will be an album to return again and again." - Astral Noize
“...If you like Sleep, Om , Electric Wizard, Monolord and the like (and who does not!) this one is for you....” - Metal Devastation Radio
"Somnus Throne do not write three minute ditties, neither will you find this band penning lyrics detailing the vagaries of unrequited love, this is a trio that have travelled down the dark highways of life and those experiences are reflected in the music they make and the lyrics that decorate that music." - Desert Psychlist
"Gutter riffs. Riffs to turn your soul green...they bask in darkly-lysergic disaffection and a sense of abiding fuckall as few in the post-Electric Wizard strain of anti-artisans have been able to conjure." - The Obelisk
"It’s Somnus Throne’s new single “Aetheronaut / Permadose” – an almost 15-minute slab of psychedelic doom that makes me pine for my stoned, slow-headbanging, smelly bar days." - CVLT Nation
It took a lot of hard work and a few cast changes to get this together. Evan, our guitarist and vocalist, had been traveling the USA from New Orleans to Oregon and everywhere in-between, hitch-hiking and even hopping the occasional freight-train, trying to make something happen. At first, we met up in Texas under the name Maenad but were again torn apart. Finally, we all locked ourselves in a basement studio at AMP rehearsal studios in LA to flesh out the bones of this first album.
It sounds exactly like what it is: the combined frustration, hatred, depravity, and despair that came from years of dredging the gutters, drug dens and 5 dollar shows across the USA for something meaningful, something real.
We are Somnus Throne and we are from all over the USA.

Fantastic album from front to back! Incredibly catchy, fuzzy riffs, great songwriting and powerful lyricism.
A classic of modern heavy psych / stoner music! Brett
is it because the vintage touch of the sound/vibe leads to the 90s rather than before that Sorcia stands out? the vocal certainly plays a part too. frankwurst
The surprisingly comical new video from roaring metal group Red Fang is a tip of the hat to the original “Predator.” Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 12, 2016
